We’re excited to announce the four organisations receiving support through our new partnership with Beatport, championing the next generation of electronic music makers.

Together, we’re investing £60,000 into grassroots electronic music projects across the UK, with four organisations each receiving £15,000. The funding will help young DJs, producers and creatives  from underserved communities access the opportunities they need to thrive in music.

Music is not just a ‘nice to have’, it is a lifeline for young people, offering safety, community and opportunity at a time when many are struggling with their wellbeing and sense of belonging.

The grassroots is where music begins, but our latest research has found that more than a third of these crucial music projects are at risk of closure. That’s why we’re delighted to partner with Beatport, who are putting money from the music industry, back into the grassroots.

Youth Music Interim Co-CEO

As well as funding, Beatport will support the organisations through editorial and marketing opportunities across its platforms, helping shine a spotlight on their work.

This partnership is about levelling the playing field early on. By investing in these grassroots organisations, we are ensuring the next generation of electronic innovators have the tools required to thrive in the industry.

This funding is a huge moment for Red Rebel FM and the young FLINTA people we support in Thanet.

In coastal communities like ours, pathways into electronic music can feel out of reach - often limited by geography, cost, lack of representation and confidence barriers.
