Jodie Bryant, known for presenting the BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop show and championing new musical talent, has joined Youth Music as a new ambassador.

Youth Music ambassadors share our vision to make sure every young person has the chance to make and monetise music, whatever their background or goal.

Jodie joins long-term Youth Music Ambassadors electronic DJ duo BICEP, GRAMMY Award-winning artist Eve, chart-topping singer-songwriter MNEK, BBC Radio 1 presenter and DJ Jess Iszatt.

As a presenter and DJ, Jodie’s passion for championing new musical talent - both on and off the stage - is evident through her work on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop show, her music night Discover Live and interview show Fangirl Files which have all helped catapult numerous careers, especially those of female artists. As well as this, Jodie has played at the Hundred cricket, supported Pixie Lott at the Ned and DJ'd at Manchester’s MTV EMA awards in 2024.

As part of her role as Youth Music ambassador, Jodie will be moderating the ‘Making it in Live Music’ talk at The Great Escape Festival, taking place on Saturday 17th May, as part of our 'Next Generation Day', a collaboration between Youth Music and BBC Introducing. The day will feature a panel discussion focused on professional development for emerging artists and entrepreneurs. It will offer insights into how to organise a successful live music event – from managing budgets and curating a great audience experience to maximising the hype from the events.

Throughout the ambassadorship, Jodie will also amplify various Youth Music initiatives, including the £2m Rescue the Roots fundraiser combating the funding crisis facing grassroots music and judging the Youth Music Awards 2025.

Matt Griffiths, CEO of Youth Music, says: “We’re so pleased to welcome Jodie Bryant as our new Youth Music ambassador. Jodie has supported numerous young artists breaking through into the music scene by playing their music for the first time on BBC Radio 1. Her dedication to supporting new artists, especially women and behind-the-scenes talent, aligns perfectly with Youth Music’s mission and makes her the perfect ambassador. We’re looking forward to working with Jodie this year and excited to see what she brings to her role.”

Jodie Bryant says: “I am so excited to be named a Youth Music Ambassador and love how our passion for supporting developing artists can now be combined! I want to champion and help as many artists as possible and make sure they can access the opportunities they deserve. Thank you so much, this is so important to me - let's go!
