TARIRO

North East

 

TARIRO is a soul-stirring singer-songwriter whose music blends emotion and storytelling with graceful ease. Hailing from the North East and raised in the rich harmonies of gospel choir, she now moves fluidly through R&B, neo-soul, and beyond a reflection of her journey, heritage and artistry. This project will be an EP that details her journey through late teens to adolescence, with songs written from 2019 up to present day, and more to be written. "This highlights the perspective of a Black girl in the North East, navigating relationships, hardships, success and failures, tracking mental health and beyond."

Sandra Muzykant

North East

 

Sandra is a Newcastle-based photographer and content creator, rooted in the North East’s underground music scene. Her focus is on capturing artists, raves, and grassroots culture through photography and video, using visuals to tell authentic stories and support emerging talent. Her creative project will deliver four professional studio photoshoots for emerging music artists, focusing on under-represented voices. The project will help Sandra to develop her skills in music photography, create a professional portfolio and website, and provide artists with high-quality visuals to promote their work – strengthening Newcastle’s grassroots creative scene.

Nic Promotions

North West

 

Now 21, Milly been putting on events in the music industry since she was 17 due to there being few accessible opportunities for young musicians, specifically in Sunderland. She has always had such deep love for everything music. Euphony is an all day festival, celebrating and showcasing local music, including giving opportunities to new/up and coming musicians. 2025 was the festival's third successful year, having doing it without formal funding thus far.

Joseph Barron

North East

 

Joseph is a 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist from the North East. He finds inspiration in jazz, rock and folk to create a unique blend of captivating sounds. He has played across many venues in Leeds, performing his music and supporting other artists, such as Brad Stank and Eszter Vida. He aims to record and release the five track EP he has in my catalogue. He wants his next release to stray away from one-off singles and create a more consistent sound. Joseph also wants to collaborate with other musicians and creatives in the process and pay them for their contributions.

Rivkala

Rivkala is a Manchester-born, North-East based vocalist, songwriter, pianist, bandleader, stylist, choreographer, artistic director and all-round showgirl, using music as a vessel for storytelling and social commentary, with a firm jazz, neo-soul rooting. Rivkala will be recording her second EP, titled 'Masquerades', which expands on the audio-visual world established in EP1, exploring themes of performance in everyday life.

Haaji Ka Halva

North East
 

Haaji Ka Halva is an electronic music producer and DJ, who uses a sampler pad to deconstruct and reassemble well-know dance tracks. She loves blending vocal samples of South Asian songs from her childhood over old-school rave classics. These hybrid sets, both live and online, combine live performance with DJ-ing and expressive visuals. With the NextGen Fund grant, she aims advance her production, mastering and marketing skills, so that she can release high-quality remixes and original material.

Milan

Milan

Milan is a musician from Newcastle. He has performed at the Northern Writers Awards and Newcastle Cathedral, alongside Beverly Knight and Soweto Gospel Choir. He has also worked with Write Up and Rise to create the song 'I Am Here', which raises awareness about the impact of mental health crises on young people. With the NextGen Fund, he worked with a producer to record three tracks, and a local videographer to create a high-quality music video to accompany them.

Maius Mollis

Maius Mollis

Maius Mollis is an artist based in the North East of England. Her music has received support from Both Sides Records, Echoes and Dust, Come Play with Me and BBC Introducing. She has also been an artist resident at Siren Studios Penryn.

Isabel Maria

North East

 

Isabel Maria is an alternative-pop singer-songwriter from Sunderland. To date, she has played shows nationally and internationally (including London, Brighton, Worcester, Leeds, Newcastle and Seville), and gained the support of names such as Rolling Stone Español and BBC Radio 1. She has also been awarded the prestigious Alan Hull (Lindisfarne) Award, a Northern Writers Awards, and a North East Culture Award.

Ebenezer Good

North East

 

Ebenezer Good is a producer, recording engineer and DJ based in Newcastle. He has performed at festivals across the UK including Kendall Calling, Dot2Dot in Bristol, and Waves Festival in Sunderland. With the NextGen Fund, he will be releasing three new singles, play at UK Garage and DnB events, and host guest mixes on his social media platforms and on radio.
