arakel lies down on the grass with one arm above his head

Arakél

South West

Arakél is a self-produced singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, trying to find "lights-come-on moments" in his music. Right now, what he makes is "informed by anything from the immigrant experience to internet-age nostalgia, and sits anywhere between self-referential indietronica, R&B-inspired pop, and pure new wave." The NextGen Fund grant will support the partial recording, completion, and performance of his second full-length album - a collection of songs about the people, places, and changes that make a fleeting summer.
