Martha Byrant, also known as Marz Fay is a spoken word artist, actor and musician from South London. During lockdown Martha has released three tracks via Sound Cloud. Truly DIY, which she created home in her make-shift studio and created DIY visuals to release on her YouTube channel. The The 18 Year old sound is reminiscent of Lo-Fi and melodic with lyrics heavily rooted in poetry.

Becca is a singer-songwriter and community musician based in Newcastle. In 2019, Becca released her debut single, Control, a pop and neo-soul track through, Crumpet Records, an independent and intern-run label. Becca hopes to release more music this year with Tipping Point Records. Becca is also a creative freelancer with various roles such as a choir leader and arts assistant. Becca has also performed at the Women Are Mint Festival at Cobalt Studios and The Late Shows at Gateshead Library.

6 Organisations Tackling Underrepresentation in the Music Industry

In 2020 we launched the Youth Music Incubator Fund to enable organisations to create sustainable, meaningful career opportunities for young people aged 18-25, especially those who are currently underrepresented in the sector. We wanted to help creative employers support emerging talent and benefit from a more diverse workforce. 

Since then, we've given out more than £2.3 million to businesses, collectives and not-for-profits working in the music industries to make that happen, that have created over 800 paid work opportunities created at the Real Living Wage, for young people across England, Scotland and Wales.
