13 years of leadership

Since joining in 2012, Matt has redefined Youth Music’s mission to break down barriers to music-making for young people nationwide. Under his leadership, the charity has increased crucial investment in grassroots organisations, expanded into Wales and Scotland, grown its income, launched groundbreaking programmes supporting young people to progress their careers in music and created the annual Youth Music Awards.

Reflecting on his time at Youth Music, Matt said:

It has been the honour of my life to lead Youth Music and champion equal access to music for young people facing barriers. Youth Music represents everything I stand for personally and professionally.

Stepping away has not been an easy decision, but after 13 incredible years, I know the charity is in excellent hands with a brilliant team, board and culture, to continue this vital mission.
