Image The Nominees Abi Johnson (she/her)The Music Works, South WestAbi Johnson is a music leader and sound engineer at The Music Works, where she became the organisation’s first female Black engineer. Starting as a volunteer, she now supports young people through music projects, 1:1 mentoring, disability programmes and school partnerships. Alongside her work with young people, Abi has helped drive racial equity work across the organisation, using music to create inclusive spaces where young people feel seen, supported and able to thrive. Holly Prest (she/her)Jubacana Music Futures, North WestHolly Prest is a percussionist, facilitator and youth voice champion with over 20 years’ experience supporting young people through music. As director of Jubacana, she has spent more than a decade creating a youth-led space where young musicians develop confidence, leadership and creative skills. Drawing on her expertise in Afro-Brazilian percussion and her lived experience of ADHD, Holly is passionate about helping young people, particularly neurodivergent creatives, feel a sense of belonging and realise their potential. Souria Boudina (she/her)New Sounds of Crawley, South EastSouria Boudina is an emerging music leader, community builder and apprentice facilitator with One World Orchestra. After first joining as a participant, she now supports music sessions for refugee families, women affected by trafficking and domestic abuse, and young children. Drawing on her lived experience and multilingual skills, Souria creates welcoming, culturally responsive spaces where people feel safe to connect through music. Her leadership is helping make community music more inclusive, accessible and representative.
