AIIME C

Wales
 

AIIME C is a vocalist and MC inspired by pop, liquid drum & bass, and garage. Her NextGen Fund project, 'Up in the Air', is an EP inspired by the Air element in astrology. It will blend genres like pop, drum and bass, and hip-hop, featuring meaningful lyrics and soft, airy vocals. The album art will have colourful pastel clouds, reflecting the EP’s dreamy and ethereal vibe.

Ogun

Ogun

Ogun is a poet, writer, activist, musician and fashion designer. He is the Agent for Change at the Arts Council of Wales. His EP 'Flight Mode' was placed on a list of the '100 Greatest Welsh Albums of All Time' by Wales Arts Review, has received support from BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, and has performed at a variety of venues and festivals including FOCUS Wales, Tiny Rebel Fest, 2 headline gigs in Porters (Cardiff), Swn Festival, Le Pub (Newport), The Moon (Cardiff) and a headline show at Clwb Ifor Bach (Cardiff). He has also been named a 'Future Figure' by BBC 1Xtra, featured in a documentary by It's My Shout looking at MOBO music in Wales, and was selected for Forte Project's artist development programme in Wales.

Malan

Malan

Malan is a jazz, pop and neo-soul singer from North Wales. She has received support from BBC 1 and BBC 6 Music, received the Triskel Award from the Welsh Music Prize, and had her songs added to Spotify editorial playlists including 'New Music Friday UK'. The NextGen Fund supported her to release her debut EP, 'Bloom'.

G Notes K

G Notes K is an artist based in Wales. He has performed in a variety of venues in Wales, including TramShed, the Wales Millennium Centre, and The Moon; and at festivals including BBC Immersed Festival and the first hip-hop event in Caerphilly.

Tom Auton

Tom Auton

Tom Auton is a rock artist from Cardiff who self-produces and mixes all his own music. He has achieved several million streams on Spotify across his tracks, sold out local shows at Clwb Ifor Bach (Cardiff) and Le Pub (Newport), and played at The Joiners, Guildhall and London's O2 Academy2. He has also supported artists including Feeder and Jack Savoretti.

Wales

 

Samantha is a soul, Afrobeats and dark-pop singer-songwriter from Wales.  She has played at various festivals including Big Love, Green Man and Immersed Music Festival; was selected for Focus Wales and the Anthem Fast Forward Project; and has performed at the Music and Race Show for Race Council Cymru, as well as headlining the Love Music Hate Racism showcase at The Moon in Cardiff. With her NextGen Fund, she is currently creating a 10-track Afrobeats album which will feature artists including fellow NextGen Fund recipient, ManLikeVision.

ADJUA

Wales
 

ADJUA is an artist based in Cardiff, who explores genres including indie R&B, Afro, jazz and neo-soul. She has previously been named Huw Stephens' 'Artist of the Week', has headlined Clwb Ifor Bach and performed for the Welsh Music Prize at the Welsh Millenium Centre, and has played shows in Rotterdam and Sweden. She has also supported Mauvey on his UK tour. ADJUA's NextGen Fund grant will support the production and release of the second track from her upcoming EP, 'Everything is Beautiful'.

Niques

Niques is a garage and R&B/soul artist from Cardiff. She has performed at BBC 6's Immersed Festival and Push The Boat Out Festival in Scotland, as well as performing alongside D Double E, Foreign Concept and Sam Binga. She has also had support from Reprezent Radio, BBC and Kiss FM.

Mari Mathias

Mari Mathias is an alternative folk singer from Wales. Having grown up in the rural village of Talgarreg, her music is driven by nature, landscape and tradition. She has received support from BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio 6 and The Cardiffian. She has also performed at a variety of festivals, including Between The Trees and Sŵn Festival in Wales, Centre Stage Festival in New Delhi, and Hornbill Festival in Kohima.

Hemes is an artist based in South Wales. She has received support from BBC Radio Wales, having her music placed on the BBC Wales A-List for multiple weeks, and has performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at the BBC 6 Music Festival.
