A one-day training course exploring the inclusive multi-arts practice of Zone Club, WMC’s creative project for disabled young adults. 

Who is it for? 

  • Early-career music therapists and music therapy students
  • Instrumental and peripatetic teachers
  • People leading music in educational or community settings
  • Aspiring music educators and leaders, and people interested in the creative ways of working in partnership with learning disabled children and adults. 

What to expect 

Explore the underlying processes that can accompany interactive relationships and how we can develop these into successful creative strategies. With focus on: 

  • Intensive Interaction
  • Active and creative listening 

Key skills - pace, rhythm, repetition and anticipation 

  • Developing our observation skills
  • Strategies for group work 

Participants will join an interactive creative session with Zone Club in the afternoon. Led by Music therapists and lead Zone Club practitioners, Bob Heath and Alex Lupo. 

Cost 

£75/ £50 Students Limited bursary places available where cost is a barrier.
