You are here: Musical inclusion

Three disabled young people and a music leader playing percussion instruments

Case study

Essex Music Education Hub realised that opportunities for music-making in the county’s special schools were patchy at best. They embarked on a strategic plan to ensure children with special educational needs and/or disabilities don’t miss out. The resulting project is a fantastic demonstration of what musical inclusion looks like in practice.

Our business plan

Many children and young people - particularly those experiencing challenges in their lives - miss out on opportunities to regularly make music, to progress and fulfill their potential. We want to address this imbalance and tackle it head-on.
