Surafeal Bruke

Surafeal Bruke is the founder of GRADIENT, a platform celebrating the UK's vibrant and diverse music and creative scenes. The NextGen Fund will help Surafeal to scale up GRADIENT, hosting events with higher capacities throughout London, and offering additional support for artists, including workshops and networking opportunities.

retropxssy

Greater London

 

retropxssy is an artist based in London, who blends hip-hop with jazz, punk and jungle. She has put on her own shows in the UK, Europe, and Canada; supported artists like Onoe Caponoe, Grove and Gal-Go; and has been longlisted in the Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition. She has also performed at festivals including Uplands Festival. The NextGen Fund will support her to produce and release her album, 'I Haven't Told Many People'.

NuAloe

Greater London

 

NuAloe is a Nigerian and Jamaican singer and rapper. Her music addresses themes of Blackness, Queerness, and the experience of living in South London. The NextGen Fund is supporting her to create and release her next EP, alongside a series of visuals.

MARACHÉ

Greater London

 

MARACHÉ is a London-based artist, songwriter and producer. Her songs have gone viral on TikTok, leading to airplay on Reprezent Radio, Capital XTRA, BBC 1Xtra, and other local radio stations. She has also been featured on Spotify's Fresh Finds UK & IE playlist, and performed at The Great Escape Festival and Hype & Genius' collaborative event with Nando's.

HabibTati

Greater London

 

HabibTati is a DJ, music event producer and community organiser from London. They specialise in blending sounds from South-West Asia and the Middle East into the London music scene. Their NextGen Funded project will focus on integrating sounds and instruments from their heritage into several performances within London’s electronic music community.

Gabriella Bongo

Greater London

 

Gabriella Bongo is a songwriter, producer, DJ and recording engineer based in London. She has been lauded by BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, Hospital Records and Atlantic Records; has performed at the O2 Academy, the Royal Albert Hall, and Hospitality in the Woods Festival; and taken part in jam sessions with Nile Rodgers. The NextGen Fund is supporting Gabriella to release her next three singles.

Indy Newland

Indy Newland is a singer, rapper, and producer originally from Leeds, now based in London. He has performed shows in notable venues in both cities, including Hyde Park Book Club, Oporto, The Wardrobe, Hifi Club, Headrow House and Peckham Audio.

Call Me Vee

Call Me Vee

Call Me Vee is a cultural worker, musician and radio producer/presenter based in London. They are currently a producer and presenter on No Signal Radio, where they co-host their original show 'Wake and Make', and they have also been featured on OYOKO | DJMT’s show on Threadz Radio, where they curated music exploring Cameroon’s musical and rhythmic heritage.

BANJI

BANJI

BANJI is a rapper, actor, model and youth leader from Bermondsey, South London. He is one of the founding members, and now Associate Director, of the Spit Game collective. As community leader, he runs rap clubs across London, supporting young people to take ownership of their cultures, develop their craft, and where necessary re-engage with school. BANJI received the Young Leader Award at the Youth Music Awards 2024 for the impact of this work. As an actor and film producer, he has starred in and co-produced two BAFTA-qualifying short films, alongside appearing in a range of other film projects.

MRWIZE

MRWIZE

MRWIZE, aka Harold Kuenyefu, is a South London-born electronic music artist and producer. All his work is self-recorded and produced, and all his visual work is self-directed. He also composes music for video projects and short films, and has modelled for brands such as Exemplar. To date, he has worked with the likes of Namasenda and Isamaya Ffrench, and played at well-known venues in London, including Corsica Studios.
