What you can do
Music making has the power to transform young lives. It can help young people to develop skills, build self-confidence, uncover a new talent and discover a brighter future.
With your support, we can reach more disadvantaged children and young people than ever before.
What we do
Since 1999, Youth Music has provided over 2 million children and young people with free access to a range of music-making projects and activities. By taking part in Youth Music projects, young people's aspirations have been raised, their confidence boosted and horizons broadened. For many, it has been a life changing experience.
Because of Youth Music there are now more high quality music-making opportunities for a wider range of children and young people than ever before, from learning rock guitar or beatboxing to classical violin and everything in between.
Our vision is that every child in the UK - no matter where they live, their background or circumstances - has the chance to take part in the music-making project of their choice and we need your help to achieve our aim of reaching three million children and young people by 2010.
"The day I walked in and met everyone changed my life and I felt great. It's one of the greatest things I have been part of. I think being part of the group could help anyone. I think we all learn from each other."
Rachael, 18, Cumbria

"Today, makers of music can't just be artists; they've got to have some kind of understanding of how the business works."
Roots Manuva, Mercury Prize nominated Hip Hop artist
