SoundLINCS seeks enthusiastic music-makers

Youth Music Action Zone for Lincolnshire seeks Programme Development Officer and Freelance music facilitators

Enthusiastic music-makers with a flair for communicating their passion within a range of different settings are being sought by soundLINCS - the Lincolnshire Music Development Agency and Youth Music Action Zone for Lincolnshire.

‘Recent successful funding bids are enabling us to expand our range of participatory music programmes which include music-making activities for children, young people and vulnerable adults across the county,’ explains soundLINCS CEO Nikki-Kate Heyes. ‘In order to deliver these programmes, we are looking for musicians across a variety of disciplines who have ambitions to pursue a career in community music and who are wiling to share their passion within a diversity of contexts.’

SoundLINCS is looking particularly for a Programme Development Officer to be responsible for the delivery of the Sing Up vocal initiative across Lincolnshire. Intended to ensure that singing becomes an intrinsic part of every child’s school day, Sing Up is the Government-backed National Singing Programme, and is led in Lincolnshire by soundLINCS. Based in Lincoln, the Sing Up Programme Development Officer position is full time, although applications from candidates willing to job-share may be considered.

In addition, soundLINCS is welcoming applications from experienced musicians, teachers and youth workers who are interested in joining its team of freelance Music Facilitators. Engaged in the delivery of practical music sessions across the seven districts of Lincolnshire, the team of Music Facilitators operates within a range of settings, including Early Years, schools, youth clubs and community venues. Enthusiastic music-makers across all genres are invited to apply.

The closing date for applications for both the Sing Up Programme Development Officer post and the vacancies for Music Facilitators is Thursday 16 July. For further information and an application pack, contact soundLINCS on 01522 510073, e-mail info@soundlincs.org  or visit www.soundlincs.org
