Rhythm of London seeks young buskers

Musicians aged 16-25 sought for one hundred 20 minute busking slots

Auditions are now open for the chance to win a highly sought after busking pitch on the London Underground, courtesy of Rhythm of London and Transport for London.

On Saturday 11 July they are providing a rare opportunity for young musicians or singers (16-25) to bring their music to the thousands of people who use the tube every day and be part of the live music scene in London.

Prizes
There are one hundred 20-minute slots on prime performance pitches up for grabs and the top ten buskers will then have an opportunity to busk for prizes including:

  • A year's licence to perform as part of London's Underground Busking Scheme.
  • A brand new Epiphone acoustic guitar courtesy of Gibson Guitars.
  • A guitar signed and donated by Sting.

To enter the competition, young musicians must complete the application form and email a 30 second - 1 minute (max) clip of them/their band playing to ROLauditions@london.gov.uk. The file size should be no larger than 5MB.  Any style and genre are welcome

For more information visit the Rhythm of London website www.london.gov.uk/rhythmoflondon/

Auditions must be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday 30 June.
