NAME offers group membership
The National Association of Music Educators offers discounted Group Membership for organisations
The professional association for everyone involved in music education is offering group membership for the first time.
Three or more people working for the same organisation or team can join as a group, thereby saving money compared with the cost of individual membership.
Group members get many of the same excellent benefits as anyone joining as an individual music educator, including a saving of up to £50 on the fee for the popular NAME annual national conference, which takes place this year on 18-20 September at York University.
Other benefits include discounts on NAME publications and other membership offers, access to the members-only section of the NAME website, and the opportunity to participate in NAME’s focus and special interest groups and regional groups.
Each group will also receive copies of NAME Magazine (published three times a year), Postbag (published quarterly) and any other free publications to share between them. Individual members get their own personal copy.
The introduction of group membership marks the first full year of the organisation’s new status as a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.
“Run by its members for its members, NAME provides a high-quality network of support and contact for everyone involved in music education,” commented NAME chair Lis McCullough. “There is no other music professional organisation like it and we hope that this new group membership offer will extend the NAME network even further across the music education community.”
All NAME memberships run from 1 January 2009 for 12 months and, as a personal subject association membership, the cost is tax deductible.
