Musical Futures Publish New Teacher Resource Pack

'An Approach to Teaching and Learning' provides teachers and practitioners with advice and a range of resources

Musical Futures brings non-formal teaching and informal learning approaches into schools. It aims to make music learning relevant to young people, connect in school and out-of-school experiences, and find ways of engaging all 11–18 year olds in sustainable music making and learning.

'Musical Futures: An Approach to Teaching and Learning' guides teachers and practitioners through the ethos and approach of Musical Futures, providing practical advice and a range of resources, including:

• Interactive guide to whole-group classroom workshopping

• Practical resources for exploring the transition from Wider Opportunities to Musical Futures

• Guide to songwriting in schools

• New audio resources, including Coldplay, Kings of Leon and Kaiser Chiefs

• Advice on managing space, equipment and music technology; co-constructing a curriculum with your students; personalising extracurricular activities; and dealing with external observers

• Updated practical advice and guidance on all aspects of Musical Futures
