Aside from the ten or so UK-wide ‘signature’ projects the culture programme will offer opportunities so that inspirational cultural, creative and heritage projects from communities across London and the whole of the UK can join in too.

The process starts today. A new structure is in place based around a network of regional Creative Programmers. Organisations are being invited to put forward suitable projects to be part of our Cultural Olympiad, which launches to the public in a special weekend of events at the end of September and will run right through to the end of the 2012 Games. Projects will be chosen based on clear criteria and awarded the new London 2012 ‘Inspire mark’.
