Jamelia Goes Back to School

Jamelia Goes Back to School

Our spokesperson Jamelia went back to her old primary school, Brookfields Primary in Hockley, today to help run a singing workshop for some lucky pupils! She spent the morning helping singing leader Lucy Griffiths run a workshop to get the children practicing to enter The Big School Sing Up.

Jamelia’s school visit caused great excitement and we were joined by TV crews from GMTV and Midlands Today, as well as local press, who all wanted to find out what the Sing Up campaign is up to.

The Big School Sing Up is a chance for primary schools to enter their singing for the chance to be played on the radio. All schools need to do is register for the Sing Up programme, choose a song from the songbank, and record their singing. The project started on 4th February and schools have until 9th March to enter, with randomly selected tracksplaying out wc 10th March. The project is about celebrating all singing, and is not a competition – we just want to hear schools having fun!

Go to the The Big School Sing Up section if you would like to enter your school.
