‘COMMUNICATE: Cultural Leaders of the Future’
Tuesday 2 June, The Custom’s House, South Shields, Tyne & Wear

ENYAN's national conference in the North East 'Communicate' is entirely ‘youth-led’. Teaming up with partner The Custom’s House and working closely alongside The Arts Award, the network will support two cultural leaders through the events management process to produce a refreshing and motivating conference.
The day is relevant to youth arts practitioners, policy makers and young people alike (with limited free places available to anyone under the age of 19!) and aims to actively promote ‘meaningful dialogue’ enabling all attendees to learn from one another. There will be case studies, performances, insightful speeches, creative debates and networking sessions all of which young people will help to organise, plan, deliver and document.

The conference aims to:

  • Demonstrate why, and how, the arts can be used as a tool to develop leadership skills, aspiration and potential of young people
  • Actively show how effective communication and dialogue between young people, professionals and policy makers is key to a successful cultural workforce of the future.
  • Inform about existing models of good practice, opportunities and initiatives and signpost to further sources of information.

There will also be a Keynote Speech from Sarah Mc Carthy-Fry MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools & Learners.

Rates for the conference vary for organisations and individuals but Early bird discounts are availbel until March 13.  Visit the ENYAN conference site for more information.
