Anthony Rossomando, former guitarist of Dirty Pretty Things, has launched the inaugural ‘Younger Than Yesterday’ night at Proud, Camden. This first event took place on 5 April and all proceeds will go to Youth Music.
Named after a classic album by The Byrds, the launch saw Anthony being joined by Didz Hammond, another former member of Dirty Pretty Things, as well as Klaxons singer Jamie Reynolds, on DJ duties. Other audience members included renowned photographer Roger Sargent, whilst Carl Barat, former singer of Dirty Pretty Things and The Libertines, also put in a surprise appearance.
When explaining why he chose Youth Music as benefactors of the night, Anthony said 'I like the idea of getting musical instruments, and things that make noise, and encouraging kids to be creative, impoverished children who don’t have those outlets. All the musicians that are part of tonight aren’t known for being DJs, they’re known for being musicians. So it only makes sense that their time is contributing in giving back to people to make music.'
Youth Music would like to extend our thanks to Anthony, Didz, and everyone else who was involved in putting together the fantastic event. Thank you!
