Spread a little singing

Hit the high notes and join in with the first ever National Sing Up Day on 24 February!

National Sing Up Day is a chance to showcase all the fantastic things happening around the country as part of Sing Up*. Join in and put on your own event to celebrate your love of singing or get involved with Sing Up's very own virtual choir.

The theme of the day is ‘Spread a Little Singing’, so why not have a special assembly or learn the Sing Up Song with your class?

Strictly Come Singing, is the official song for National Sing Up Day – you can learn and record it to become part of a national virtual choir. Here's how it works:

Getting Started
Visit the Strictly Come Singing page in the Song Bank to hear the song and download the backing tracks and activities. You can then learn the song with your class or singing group.

Make a recording!
After you’ve rehearsed and prepared the song, you can visit Sing Up's new Sing & Share section to record the song with PureSolo*. This will be ready later this week, so get rehearsing!

Send it in
Sing Up will be collecting recordings from people across the country and creating a massive mash-up. Email yours to nsud@singup.org so that you can be part of the virtual choir!  Recordings will need to arrive in time for National Sing Up Day, 24 February, to make it on to the CD!

If you're still stuck for ideas to celebrate National Sing Up Day then take a look at the National Sing Up Day site and see what others are up to.

*Sing Up is the Music Manifesto’s National Singing Programme and aims to place singing at the heart of every child’s life. Sing Up believes singing can change lives and build stronger communities. For more info visit the Sing Up website.
