Music for Youth invites young musicians to take part in a mass event celebrating Tune In - Year of Music and the World Cup
Music for Youth (which receives suppport from Youth Music's NYMO fund) is co-ordinating a huge event as part of Tune In - Year of Music.
Young people are invited to take part in a massed performance on Monday 5 July 2010 in Birmingham.
This unique large scale performance entitled SCORE! will celebrate both Tune In–Year of Music and the World Cup. Taking place during the National Festival of Music for Youth and inspired by the 'beautiful game', SCORE! has been devised to bring together thousands of young singers and musicians. Directed by composer Tim Steiner, musicians of varying styles, ages and levels of ability will be able to join in, with each player being allocated a part that is suitable for them.
The event will be hugely inspirational to all the young musicians, teachers and practitioners involved. The offer to take part is open to all.
The idea is to bring together young musicians and those involved in music education from all musical backgrounds. Music for Youth are keen for everyone to spread the word as planning for the event will be based around the number of people that register their interest.
