Youth Music Theatre UK

Youth Music Theatre UK (YMT) was founded in 2003 by a group of experienced and committed directors, administrators, pastoral staff, young people and parents who were determined to create a dynamic, vibrant and participatory company which could bring together young people from around the UK in music theatre projects. 

YMT are now the UK's biggest provider of musical theatre projects for young people, and continue to go from strength to strength each year. In 2010, they will be presenting six new music theatre productions around the UK, running seven Summer Skills residential workshops, and numerous outreach projects.

All of YMT's work involves young people creating, developing and devising work themselves, supported by professional directors, choreographers and musical directors. 

The main activity centres on individual productions (six this year). YMT do not have members like the other NYMOs. Auditions relate to individual productions. The cast and crew come together for two weeks and at the end the production is staged.
