The West Midlands includes Birmingham, the Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton), Solihull and Coventry, and the rural counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire. The cities and towns have very diverse populations, with many communities and traditions. The region has a thriving musical life, with many musicians living, working and learning here.
Young people in the West Midlands have musical opportunities via schools, local music services, youth services, community music agencies, and Youth Music Action Zones. But many still miss out.
Our continuing strategies in the region include developing partnerships and improving music-making opportunities that help disadvantaged children and young people
