Arts Award

Our Arts Award Welcome offer covers the whole of the south west and is targeted at any young person studying for the Silver or Gold Arts Awards, who wishes to:

  • Research issues relevant to the field of music making
  • Undertake work experience with a music organisation
  • Interview professional music educators and musicians
  • Seek advice regarding the music education industry
  • Plan and manage a music event

For the Gold Arts Award, our Regional Officers Sally and Jo can:

  • Directly help young people with their Unit 1 studies, to engage in the Wider Arts Sector and to Form a View about an arts issue they care about. 
  • Signpost young people to other organisations and events that can help young people with their Arts Practice, and to Research and Review high quality arts events.
  • Offer a bespoke service to young people studying their gold award who would like a fuller range of experiences by co-ordinating work experience opportunities that allow young people to experience a range of career roles within the industry as identified by them.  This opportunity can be offered to up to 4 young people per year.
  • Assist with aligning Unit 2 projects with other music events if appropriate.

For the Silver Arts Award Sally and Jo can:

  • Signpost and support young people with their Unit 1 studies, to undertake an arts challenge, attend a live art event and undertake arts research
  • Assist with aligning Unit 2 projects with other music events if appropriate
