The Choir

Youth Music Voices consists of 100 young people from across the UK. To recruit the members of our national singing team, we hosted a series of events and auditions across the country and sang with over 2,000 young vocalists.

Creative director Richard Frostick led the auditions and believes that this will be the best young people’s vocal ensemble in the country, entering new territory from traditional youth choirs – not only due to the singing talent but also because of the diversity of young people involved; from classically trained, to those who sing gospel – the members come from a mix of backgrounds, accents and talents.

One of the 20 events we hosted was at the Royal Opera House in London, who very kindly let us take over for the day as part of our search for the best young singers in the UK. Watch the highlights in our video below:

As well as developing these singers to the highest standard, Youth Music Voices will be performing throughout the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, a programme that runs for four years from the end of the Beijing games in 2008 to the end of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London in 2012.
