National Childrens Orchestra

The National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain (NCO) provides young people with a world-class foundation for orchestral performance and musicianship.

The organisation brings together hundreds of 7-13 year olds from across the country and offer them a life-changing experience – meeting like-minded people and being guided by top professional musicians. As well as creating a safe, stimulating environment in which to explore and enhance skills and passions, their friendly residential courses also help to broaden the social development of young musicians.

The NCO offers full bursary and scholarship schemes to enable the recruitment of the very best young musicians from around the UK, whatever their circumstances.

"I have made many friends for life and the balance between music and play was perfect.

I cannot wait for the summer course to see all my friends again and tackle some more challenging and exciting music."

25% of young people say they can't afford to take part in music activities.

Help us give them the chance to discover they can make music, even though they never thought they could.
