Youth Music's three Open Programmes have been designed to help us deliver on our priority areas for the period 2005-2010. The Application Forms and Hot Tips (guidance notes designed to aid with completing the Application Form) are available to download.
Grants for between £5,000 and £30,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations to work with children and young people, up to the age of 18, over a period of 6 to 18 months*.
We recommend that you print the Hot Tips and refer to them closely while completing the application form. We can only accept electronic applications. Applications will take up to 3 months to assess.

Make It Sound
Music-making for 5-18 year olds who otherwise lack the chance to take part
Vocalise!
For programmes where the voice is the main instrument
*Subject to Youth Music's funding being confirmed by Arts Council England beyond March 31, 2009
New closing date for Open Programmes
The closing date for applications has been revised. The current Open Programmes (First Steps, Make It Sound and Vocalise!) will close on 15 December 2008. The full schedule is given below:
15 December 2008 - closing date for current Open Programme applications.
31 March 2009 - assessment of all applications completed.
30 April – all funded activities started.
31 October 2010 – all funded activities completed and grants closed.
After a period of consultation and development, Youth Music will launch a new Open Programme in the summer of 2009.
