Liz McClarnon
Singer Liz McClarnon, who launched her solo career with top 5 smash ‘Woman in Love’, and is one third of Scouse Pop sensation Atomic Kitten, is Youth Music’s newest Ambassador.
Liz is 2007’s favourite for the BBC Song for Europe Eurovision competition and will be spearheading Youth Music’s Song for Peace initiative in association with Peace one Day.
Song for Peace is an historic project that aims to unite the nation’s children in song on September 21– Peace Day. One lucky school will be led in song by Liz. Last year, across the UK, as part of the Song for Peace initiative, an unprecedented two million young people united to sing, ‘No Wars Will Stop Us Singing’. Composed by Ivor Novello award winner Debbie Wiseman and with lyrics by Academy Award Winner Don Black, the inspiring and uplifting song ‘No Wars Will Stop Us Singing’ motivated over 6,000 schools across the country to take part at last year’s event.
This year, once again, Youth Music, Peace One Day, and NASUWT have invited the public to get involved on Friday September 21 2007. Youth Music are asking every school and singing group in the UK to sign up to sing ‘No Wars Will Stop Us Singing’, from Youth Music’s Singbook on Peace Day this year. Youth Music has translated the song into the 5 languages of the UN to reach children across the globe.

Nate James
British soul singer and songwriter Nate James released his debut album, ‘Set The Tone’, in 2005. Heavily influenced by soul artists such as Marvin Gaye, Prince and Stevie Wonder, it received two MOBO nominations. He’s also collaborated with fellow artists including Sway and Shapeshifters. Unlike many young artists, he cleverly retains the copyright in his recordings. He does his own A&R and releases on his own Frofunk label via various deals with independent labels around the world.
“I want to inspire young people to make music. There’s so many distractions out there especially for kids, whether it be gangs, drugs or whatever else, to give them some sort of focus is really important. To give young people something they actually enjoy, helping them get involved in music and to pick up an instrument can only help can only be a good thing.”
The type of activities that Nate will be undertaking on behalf of Youth Music include singing workshops, meeting and motivating Youth Music participants, as well as supporting YMAZ Week.
